It’s Monday night and we had a long day at clinic today…Jack did well and he has been feeling great since we got out of the hospital. No problems, no upset tummy…nothing! He has been in great spirits and that is always good. We went in this morning to get his levels checked and he had to get platelets today. I figured he would have to, but they took over 2 hours to get there so that ate up a lot of the morning. We ran into our friend Corey that we roomed with during Jack’s 3rd session of chemo. He was our roommate who is almost 16 and was completing his last inpatient chemo when we were roommates with him. He is really good with Jack and Jack loves to play with him so that made time pass rather quickly. We go back on Thursday for another level check. Jack’s ANC was at 400 today and they were thinking it would drop even more over the next couple of days so we are being extra careful about germs around here.
Nikki left yesterday which is always hard. She stayed for a week with Braden while we were in the hospital and helped us out a ton. Jack loves having her around and of course we do too! She will be back again in June to help as Jack goes in for his next round and for recovery. Thank God for the family that we have…not sure what we would do without them.
My Dad came in town last night to help us out with this week while Zac is out of town for work and while I have to take Jack to clinic appts and give him shots at night. Jack loves having Grandpa around too so that is always a plus!
Jack will be taking another hearing test next week as well as a test to make sure his kidneys have not been harmed from the chemo before we go on to the next round. He is doing great and we are so very proud of our little man. He has more strength and courage than we do!
