We have had a great weekend in the Morton household! Saturday we got a visit from Zac’s friend, Brian, and Jack was thrilled! He brought a couple of gifts for the boys and Jack was just so happy to have someone new to play with. Brian was supposed to run with Zac to do an errand, but Jack talked him into staying here with him and playing up in the playroom instead…too cute.
That same afternoon Uncle Shawn came in to town (my sister Nikki’s fiance)! Nikki hasn’t seen him in weeks so it was great to have him here and Jack was just as excited to have him here as Nikki was! He keeps asking every 2 seconds, “Where is Shawny?” He really doesn’t want him to leave his sight.
My parents planned on driving out this week to be here for Thanksgiving, but once they found out everything that was going on with Jack and the additional scans and stress that we have this week, my dad decided to drive out on Sunday and my mom will join us on Wednesday as planned. My parents were planned on bringing out their huge, beautiful fake Christmas tree for us (since we can’t have a real one since it gives off mold every day) and tons of decor because Jack is really wanting to decorate for Christmas this year. My dad showed up from California with a Christmas tree on top of the car and the car packed full of decorations as well as a Spongebob Squarepants big balloon in the passenger seat to surprise Jack. It didn’t stop there…my dad accidentally popped the first Spongebob balloon on his drive so he cut out the bottom of it and cut out the eyes and put it over his head as he drove up to the house. I have never seen Jack smile so big. He was so excited that Grandpa brought a Spongebob mobile! The things they do for our boys!
Today was spent playing, making Dr’s appointment, changing Dr’s appointments, ordering medical supplies and reordering medications. Tomorrow is another big day for us and we need all the prayers and positive energy we can get. Jack will be getting a bone scan as well as a MRI of his head to make sure there isn’t any more Neuroblastoma in his little body. There just can’t be. This boy is too strong, too happy, too healthy…he has done so well and sailed through every treatment so far. He has blown us all away (including the Dr’s) with the resp0nse he has given. Please pray for Jack…
Go away Cancer, go away….
